II. Introduction of the slititng line
We provide Tension leveling lines to remove any shape defects
present in the Coiled material. In the steel industry stringent
tolerances for the end product necessitates the requirement for
Tension leveling of the Coil product to remove any edge to edge
length differential, such as so called ‘edge waves’.
With Tension leveling, all parts of the Coil strip are pulled
past the yield point, top to bottom, edge to edge. All the trapped
stress is removed in the process & the strip pulled out is
relatively free of the internal stresses.
The Tension Leveller arrangements include of an undriven
leveller with entry and exit bridles. In the automated lines the
degree of elongation is determined by the difference in the speed
or the tension generated between the bridles. The Tension levellers
are available with different drive options such as closed loop
mechanical differentials, all-electrical drives and combination
electrical-mechanical drives.
