Lithium UFH (CAS number: ********1) is a commonly used blood
anticoagulant, especially in clinical biochemistry and chemical
tests. Due to its minimal chelating properties, minimal
interference to water and relatively low cation concentration, it
is recommended to use anticoagulants for chemical measurements in
blood or plasma tests. Lithium UFH basically does not contain
foreign ions, so it should not be used to test lithium in the

UFH?
UFH affects many aspects of the coagulation process:
â‘´Inhibit the formation of thrombin prokinase: (enhance the
activity of antithrombin â…¢ hundreds of times)
â‘ UFH combines with antithrombin â…¢ (AT-â…¢) to form UFH
AT-â…¢ complex;
â‘¡AT-â…¢ is a serine protease inhibitor, which can inactivate
blood coagulation factors â…«a, â…ªa and â…©a with serine protease
activity.
â‘¢UFH binds to the δ aminolysine residue of AT-â…¢ to accelerate
the inactivation of coagulation factors, thereby inhibiting the
formation of thrombinogen kinase and resisting the formation of
thrombinogen kinase.
(2) Interfering with the effect of thrombin: After a small dose of
UFH is combined with AT-â…¢, even the reactive site of AT-â…¢
(arginine residue) is more likely to be combined with the active
center (serine residue) of thrombin. A stable thrombin-antithrombin
complex, which inactivates thrombin and inhibits the conversion of
fibrinogen to fibrin.
(3) Interfering with the activation of factor XIII through
thrombin, affecting the formation of insoluble fibrin; preventing
thrombin from activating factors VIII and V normally. â‘·Prevent
platelet aggregation and destruction: UFH can prevent platelet
adhesion and aggregation, thereby preventing platelet
disintegration and releasing platelet factor 3 and serotonin. The
anticoagulant effect of UFH is related to the sulfate radical
with a strong negative charge in the molecule. When the sulfate
group is hydrolyzed or neutralized by the protamine with a strong
