Golgi membrane protein GP*3 (GOLM1)
Golgi membrane protein 1, also known as Golgi membrane protein *3
(GP*3), Golgi phosphorylated protein 2 or GOLM1, is a member of the
GOLM1/CASC4 family. GP*3 is ubiquitously expressed in the body and
is mainly expressed by epithelial cells.GP*3 is highly expressed in
the colon, prostate, trachea and stomach, and less expressed in
testis, muscle, lymphoid tissue, white blood cells and spleen.There
is little GP*3 expression in the liver of normal people, but when
hepatocytes are infected with viruses (HBV, HCV), the expression of
GP*3 can be dramatically increased.Non-viral liver diseases (e.g.
alcoholic liver, autoimmune hepatitis) do not cause an increase in
the expression of GP*3, so the increased expression of GP*3 in
hepatocytes can be used as a characterization of the late stage of
liver disease.A large expression of GP*3 was detected in
hepatocyte-fused giant cells from adult cytomegalovirus hepatitis
(GCH) patient tissues.GP*3 is generally expressed in the epithelial
cells of the biliary tract, but not by hepatocytes.
GP*3 provided by our company is a gene recombinant product
expressed by mammalian cells, with high purity, excellent
immunogenicity and biological activity.
