1,*-Dihydroxy**-butyne

Physical and chemical properties:
White orthorhombic system (It will become light yellow with moisture absorption). It is soluble in water, acid solution, ethanol and acetone, sparing soluble in chloroform and not soluble in benzene and diethyl ether.
 
Application:
It is mainly used in the production of its down-stream products including polybutylene tetraphthalate (PET) and chain extender.
 
Safety caution:
It is poisonous and has narcotic function to the upper respiratory tract, eye mucosa and skin. The equipments must be sealed up. It must have ventilation in the workshops. Please wash it with water at once if you are splashed with it.
