 Arabica:
 Uganda‚¬„s Arabica coffee grows around the slopes of Mount Elgon. The coffee was introduced to Uganda from Ethiopia and evolved along the slopes of Mount Elgon. Uganda has favorable conditions for growing high quality produce compared to most of the world in terms of soil, weather and climate. Arabica cultivar Bugishu / Bugisu, (a rare breed of Arabica) is grown near Sipi Falls on the western slopes of Mt. Elgon, one of Uganda‚¬„s largest mountains. Ugandan Arabica coffee is known as a premium brew on the world market for its mild to medium berry, chocolaty taste
Robusta coffee is indigenous to the country, and has been a part of Ugandan life for centuries. The variety of wild Robusta coffee still growing today in Uganda‚¬„s rain forests are thought to be some of the rarest examples of naturally occurring coffee trees anywhere in the world. Coffee is grown by 1.7 million smallholder farmers in Uganda, 1.*7 million of whom are growing Robusta, while an estimated 2.8 million people rely on it for a living.
