According to the composition, it can be divided into Cr series (**0
series), Cr-Ni series (**0 series), Cr-Mn-Ni series (**0 series),
heat-resistant chromium alloy steel (**0 series) and precipitation
hardening system (**0 series).
**0 Series: Chromium-Manganese-Nickel Huaye Stainless Steel
**1,**2 and so on: Manganese instead of nickel has poor corrosion
resistance and is widely used as a cheap substitute for **0 Series
in China.
**0 Series: Chromium-Nickel Austenitic Stainless Steel
**1: It has good ductility and can be used for moulding products.
It can also be rapidly hardened by mechanical processing. Good
weldability. The wear resistance and fatigue strength are better
than **4 stainless steel.
**2: Corrosion resistance is the same as **4, and its strength is
better because of its relatively high carbon content.
**3: By adding a small amount of sulfur and phosphorus, it is
easier to cut than **4.
**4: General model; *8/8 stainless steel. Products such as:
corrosion-resistant containers, tableware, furniture, railings,
medical equipment. The standard composition is *8% chromium plus 8%
nickel. Stainless steel is non-magnetic and can not change its
metallographic structure by heat treatment. GB is 0Cr*8Ni9.
**4L: It has the same characteristics as **4, but low carbon makes
it more resistant to corrosion and easy to heat treatment. However,
it has poor mechanical properties and is suitable for welding and
products that are not easy to heat treatment.
**4 N: It is a nitrogen-containing stainless steel with the same
characteristics as **4. Nitrogen is added to improve the strength
of the steel.
**9: Compared with **4, it has better temperature resistance, up to
**0 C.
**9S: With a large amount of chromium and nickel, it has good heat
resistance and oxidation resistance. Products such as heat
exchanger, boiler components, injection engine.
**0: Excellent oxidation resistance at high temperature, the
maximum temperature of use is ***0 C. The mat weaving can reach
***0 items for decorative materials, electrical appliances and
kitchen equipment inside and outside buildings.
**6: Following **4, the second most widely used steel is mainly
used in food industry, clocks and watches, pharmaceutical industry
and surgical equipment, adding molybdenum to obtain a special
corrosion-resistant structure. Because it has better chloride
corrosion resistance than **4, it is also used as "marine
steel".
SS**6 is usually used in nuclear fuel recovery devices. Class *8/*0
stainless steel usually meets this application level.
**6L: Low carbon makes it more resistant to corrosion and easy to
heat treatment. Products such as chemical processing equipment,
nuclear power generators, refrigerant storage grains.
**1: Except that the addition of titanium reduces the risk of
corrosion of weld metal, other properties are similar to **4.
**7: Niobium is added, which is suitable for welding aircraft parts
and chemical equipment.
**0 Series: Ferritic and martensitic stainless steel,
manganese-free, to a certain extent can replace **4 stainless
steel
**8: Good heat resistance, weak corrosion resistance, *1% Cr, 8%
Ni.
**9: The cheapest model (British and American), usually used for
automobile exhaust pipes, is ferritic stainless steel (chromium
steel).
**0: martensite (high strength chromium steel), good wear
resistance, poor corrosion resistance.
**6: Adding sulphur improves the processability of the
material.
**0: "Tool grade" martensitic steel, similar to Brinell high
chromium steel, the earliest stainless steel. It\'s also used for
surgical knives and can be made very bright.
**0: Ferritic stainless steel for decorative purposes, such as
automotive accessories. Good formability, but poor temperature
resistance and corrosion resistance.
**0: High strength cutting tool steel, slightly higher carbon
content, after appropriate heat treatment can obtain higher yield
strength, hardness can reach *8HRC, belongs to the hardest
stainless steel. The most common example of application is the
razor blade. There are three common models: **0A, **0B, **0C, and
**0F (easy-to-process).
Series **0: Heat-resistant chromium alloy steel.
Series **0: Martensite precipitation hardening stainless steel.
