Product Description

Alloy ***2 is typically supplied as plate and sheet from Mingtai Al. it is an aluminum primarily alloyed with silicon and manganese. The addition of manganese controls the grain structure which in turn results in a stronger alloy. The most common tempers for ***2 aluminum are O, T4, T6 and T**1 and ***2 is slightly higher mechanical properties in the T6 condition when bending or forming. Mingtai Aluminum alloy ***2 also corresponds to DIN 3.***5, EN AW****2 and AA***2 standard designations and specifications but may not be a direct equivalent.

Features&Application

Typical material properties for ***2 aluminum alloy include weldability, brazability, solderability se well as machinability. Besides, alloy ***2 is a medium strength alloy with excellent corrosion resistance. So various commercial joining methods (welding, brazing, etc.) can be easily applied to ***2 alloy. Since ***2 is a heat treatable alloy, strength will be reduced in the weld region. ***2 aluminum sheet and plate are typically formed by rolling. Mingtai offers alloy ***2 plate and sheet for highly stressed applications includes trusses, bridges, cranes, transport applications as well as mould.
