Description

Typical Application: 
Typical hot work applications include mandrel bars for drawing steel tubes. Medium
temperature applications include swaging, forming and gripper dies, also punching,
piercing and trimming dies. Other applications include shear blades working at 
medium temperature including flying shear blades 

Heat Treatment: 
Forge: at ********0°C and forge with light rapid blows. Reheat when temperature falls 
below **0°C if further work remains to be done. After forging, cool slowly, preferably 
in a furnace. 
Annealing: at**0?***0? Cool slowly in furnace 
Stress Relieving: Heat slowly to **0? and allow to cool in the air. 
Hardening: Preheat at **0? followed by rapid increase of temperature to ******0?. 
Quench in oil, tempering is always recommended after hardening.
