Origins:Vinpocetine
is a derivative of the alkaloid Vincamine. Vincamine is found in
the aerial part of Vinca minor plant and can also be derived from
other plant sources such as the Voacanga and Crioceras
longiflorus.
Solubility: Practically insoluble in water, soluble in
methylene chloride, slightly soluble in anhydrous
ethanol.
Application
VINPOCETINEis a
semisynthetic derivative alkaloid of vincamine, and also can be
semisynthesized from tabersonine, an extract from Voacanga Africana
Seed.
Clinical studies suggest that it
facilitates cerebral metabolism by improving cerebral blood flow,
