1. Properties Features:
Strontium content: 9~*1%. Optimizing & refining the
morphology and distribution of eutectic silicon, and improve
mechanical properties. It has lasting and inheritable
modifying effect.
2. Scope of Application:
Apply to the modification treatment of hypoeutectic and
eutectic Al-Si alloys which casting requires longer time.
3. Operation Instructions:
(1). Temperature: **0~**0℃
(2). Dosage: When the rest of Sr is 0.*2~0.*6% of the weight
of the molten aluminum, the residual Sr element will have varied
degrees of modifying effects on different alloys. Economic dosage
according to experimental results. Suggested dosage is 0.2~0.6% of
the weight of the molten aluminum to be treated for the first
time.
(3). Valid period for modifying: 4~8 hours.
(4). Operation method: Put AlSr*0 nuggets into the molten
aluminum. After milted, evenly stirring the melt and keep the melt
static for *0~*0minutes, skim off the dross and cast the testing
rod. If the rod fracture shows normal features, the molten aluminum
is ready for casting.
(5). Fracture inspection: Size of testing rod: φ*2×**0. The
rod fracture should normally look like silvery white plush and
present fine and evenly distributed crystalline grains but no
bright silicon spots.
