Description
Welding rod Grade CMC
Carboxymethyl cellulose is a light cream to white free flowing
powder or granulate, that readily dissolves in water to form clear,
viscous solutions.
Our CMC is used to extrude and
bind the flux onto the core electrode, not only bond the flux to the
electrode, but also provide a highly plastic and smooth coating that
does not crack during drying. The electrode flux is applied through
a high pressure extrusion process containing CMC which will shear
thin under pressure.Shear thinning allows the flux formulation to
behave as a lubricant and assist in the formation of the
coating. After extrusion, CMC regain viscosity and prevent
separation and inhomogeneity of the flux.
Recommend addition: 0.5%*3.0% on total formulation adjustable
depending on desired characteristic of final product
