Description


Characteristic: Light yellow or light brown crystal powder. It has a light iodine odor, and slightly dissolves in benzene,dichloromethane, carbon tetrachloride and other organic solvents. Stable when dry and keep in low temperature. Apt to decompose when absorbing moisture and not steady in strong alkali or strong acid.
 
Usage: DIHhas a comparable reactivity to molecular iodine, andhas been demonstrated to be a very selective and at the same time higher yield alternative to N-iodosuccinimide (NIS) for the iodination, and be applied tosensitive material of photography. As an iodizing agent or an oxidizing agent, it was used in production processes for medical drugs, agricultural chemicals, chemicals, or the like.
