Physical and Chemical Properties:
The product is a kind of yellowish transparent semi-solid
substance, nontoxic and odorless. It has good chemical stability
and resistance to heat, ozone, acid and alkali, UV ray, and
weather, etc. It has high electric volume resistance, low expansion
coefficient, no dielectric medium, excellent electrical insulation
no residues after pyrolysis, and good compatibility with
polyethylene and paraffin wax, etc. It is soluble in organic
solvents such as gasoline and benzene etc., but not in water and
alcohol type solvents, and has good shearing stability.
Main Applications:
Sealing Compound: Polyisobutylene is suitable for producing various
sealing agents and hollow glass sealing compounds to increase the
flexibility and penetrability of products for its excellent
features and properties, such as atmosphere resistance, aging
resistance, weather resistance and impermeability to water
vapor.
Rubber Modification: Polyisobutylene has excellent aging resistance
and plasticity, can be used to modify the rubber. It is now widely
used in high-voltage insulating and self-adhesive tapes, and rubber
strips and other manufacturing fields.
Paraffin Wax: Polyisobutylene, after being mixed with paraffin wax
or microcrystal wax, can increase its tensile property and enhance
the brittleness of its products; especially when used for packaging
frozen food, its flexibility and acid resistance can be
increased.
Printing ink: Polyisobutylene can act as the thickener and
dispersant when added into printing ink, such as printing pulpy
inks, polyethylene cyclic photocopy, printing ink; it can also has
a thickening function in the printing ink, to prevent air
crack.
Lubricant Grease: Adding in lubricant grease, polyisobutylene can
improve the viscosity and extreme pressure resistance of its
products.
Others:
High molecular material modification, viscosity increasing
agglomerate for tensile twisting film, damping grease and so on.
