Description 1. Calcined bauxite is one of the principal ore of aluminum. 2. It contains hydrous aluminum oxides and aluminum hydroxides, formed through the lateralization of aluminous rocks in tropical and subtropical areas. 3. Calcined Bauxite is obtained by calcining (heating) superior grade Bauxite at high temperature (from **0 °C to ***0 °C). This removes moisture thereby increasing the alumina content. Compared to an alumina content of about *7 % to *8 % in raw Bauxite. 4. Calcined Bauxite has an alumina content of *4 % to *8 %. The heating is carried out in rotary kilns. Application 1.
