TECHNICAL NOTE : SBP**2 INTRODUCTION : THIS IS A CARDANOL RESIN IS SUPPLIED IN *0%, *5%, *0% SOLIDS. Specification : Colour : golden yellow Appearance : semisolid Non-volatile : solids per specified Specific gravity : 0.***0.*3 Acid value : maximum 5 Viscosity (*0% solution in MTO at *0Ëâ„¢c in ford cup no.4) : ****0 sec Drying time : Surface dry : ****0 min Tackfree : 2 hours Hard dry : 4 hours Scratch resistance : ***0 gms Flexibility & adhesion : good Solubility : MTO , toluene , ketones , esters , etc. Recommended driers : Lead octoate *8% - 1.0% , cobalt octoate 6% - 0.1% , manganese octoate6% - 0.1% as metals on the solid content of the resin are recommended. After addition of the driers ageing for *4 hours is recommended. Storage : The storage stability of this resin is satisfactory for 6 months. However the recommended storage temperature is ****0Ëâ„¢c and container should not be exposed to heat . Chemical resistance : The film is resistant to water , Acid (2% H2SO4) and Alkali (1% sodium hydroxide) and 5% sodium bi-carbonate solution and gives good anti corrosive properties. Recommended uses : It can be used as a medium for 1. Paints 2. Printing inks 3. Compositions with high outdoor durability 4. Used in substitution of alkyds in enamels 5. Furniture coatings etc. Packaging : **0kgs/*0kgsms barrels / drums The product can be supplied as per customers choice if any or against different specification . Caution : In case of reactive pigments such as zinc chrome, zinc oxide, basic lead sulphates etc. It is advised that they are not ground with main pigments in the resin as there is a possibility of reaction. It should be added only end allowing slight grinding for proper dispersion.
