Continuous casting mold powder is an important product which should
be not only of good properties, but also should be used in correct
way. Otherwise the performance will be bad, and even may result in
many defects both in surface and inside of the Beam Blank. So it is
very important to use the Casting Powder in correct way.
1. The thickness of Casting Powder should be *0~*0mm in the the
copper mold, and the powder slag layer must be thick enough so that
the powder will melt evenly in the the copper mold, and keep liquid
slag layer stable, as well as thermal insulating.
2. Operator should add Casting Powder into the the copper mold
evenly, the time interval of adding Casting Powder should be
proper, the principle is to add a small amount each time but keep
on adding operation consistent, so that the surface is always black
instead of red.
3. During normal casting, it is forbidden to stir the surface of
liquid steel in the copper mold. If small slag rings appear on the
side wall of the copper mold and don't go on growing bigger, no
need to stir and pick them out frequently. When the surface of
liquid steel fluctuating, it's normal that the slag appear on the
wide wall of the copper mold and no need to pick out.
