 Starch Conversion Enzyme

1.INTRODUCTION:
Starch, a high polymeric carbohydrate is a mixture of two polysaccharide, such as amylose and amylopectin. Starch conversion enzyme can change the internal structure of starch, which will decrease the starch viscosity, thereby meeting the requirement in papermaking process.
AU-PEA**0 is an Amylum conversion enzyme derived from the submerged fermentation of Bacillus subtilis. It is mainly used in the pulp and paper making industry.

2.TECHNICS:
The function of AU-PEA**0is equal to starch modifying agent. With unique advantages, it is applicable to various kinds of paper pulp. The surface sizing agent for paper now is usually oxidized starch. The main disadvantages of traditional method of modifying oxidized-starch such as high cost, difficulties in controlling oxidation degree and environment pollution among others, can be easily conquered by enzyme starch modifying techniques.

3.BENEFITS:
The benefits of using AU-PEA**0for modifying original starch are easier operation techniques, lower cost and no pollution.
This product can still have the indicated activity after three months storage under *5celsius. In lower temperature, the activity of the product will last longer. This product should not be frozen.

4.CHRACTERISTICS:
AU-PEA**0 provides maximal benefit at pH range of 6.0 – 7.0 and at the temperature of *5 – *0celsius  The product has an optimum pH of 6.**6.5 and is deactivated at pH below 5.0.Â
5.SPECIFICATION
AU-PEA**0 is available in liquid preparation as:
AU-PEA**0 (powder)
Unit definition: The amount of enzyme needed to hydrolyze 1 mg of starch in one minute at pH 6.0 at the reaction temperature of *0celsius and the unit can be showed as u/ml.

6.CARRIED STANDARD:
 This product follows the industry standard of PRC as QB***5.***3.

7.APPLICATION AND DOSAGE:
Add AU-PEA**0 at the rate of 0.**0.5 U/g together with calcium (Ca2+) at a concentration of ****0ppm. The dosage should be decided through experiments according to the real objective conditions.

8.PACKAGING:
*5 kg/plastic drum
Alternative packaging is available upon request for smaller or larger volumes.

9.STORAGE:
Store in a cool, dry place and away from direct sunlight. AU-PEA**0 maintains its activity for considerably longer time when stored at lower temperatures (below *5celsius). The product should not be frozen.

*0.HANDLING PRECAUTIONS:
AU-PEA**0 is non-toxic and biodegradable. However, unnecessary contact with the product should be avoided. Long term exposure to protein based products such as AU-PEA**0 may sensitize certain individuals to the product. Wash hands with warm soapy water after handling. Keep out of reach of children.
