Accueil Société Textile et cuir Cuir En cuir véritable Tannery Josef Strnad

A family tradition of more than **0 years More than one hundred years of its existence means the Josef Strnad Tannery ranks among one of the oldest Czech establishments of its kind that have never stopped running. The tannery survived two world wars, forty years of the communist regime and the influx of cheap Asian production unharmed. In ***2 Mr. Josef Strnad started a small tanning-house in a Czech town called Zamberk. In ***6, i.e. after *4 years of successful business activities, Mr. Strnads son decided to enlarge production. He and his friend Mr. Jaroslav Dohnalek purchased large business premises in Solnice. Unfortunately, the new establishment remained in the hands of these two owners for two years only as it was nationalized, like all other private companies, after the communist coup in February ***8. Luckily, the company did not follow the gloomy fate of many other companies that ceased to exist. Its operations continued for another *4 years as part of the state-owned company Rukavickarske zavody Dobris (Glove Makers of Dobris). After the fall of the communist regime, namely in ***2 the tannery was restituted by Josef Strnads and Jaroslav Dohnaleks descendants who have continued the family tradition ever since. Quality production only The company processes only high-quality rawhide and semi-finished products from select suppliers worldwide. It purchases materials not only in the Czech Republic and Slovakia but also in Austria, Germany, Poland, Switzerland and Ethiopia. The company processes leather from hoofed game, goatskin, kidskin, calfskin and imported lambskin. Our loyal, traditional clients are the glove makers. However, our products are also purchased by the manufacturers of quality brand clothes all over Europe, including Germany, Austria, France, Poland, Hungary and many others. Ultimate customer approach Our assortment includes a broad range of glove and garment leather: lambskin, kidskin, goatskin, and calfskin; doeskin from doe, deer, fallow-deer and mouflon; and hides used for technical, musical, book-binding and upholstery purposes. We satisfy even the most particular customer requirements as we provide custom manufacturing and dying of hides according to supplied samples and additional treatment of finished hides. Mailing products to customers in the Czech Republic and abroad is commonplace.
