The impact of carbon dioxide on human life and the
environment
1. Although carbon dioxide is not toxic, it cannot provide
breathing. People in an environment with high carbon dioxide
concentration will feel stuffy, headache and even suffocate to
death. Generally, we will use CO2 Sensor to measure its
concentration.
2. The carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere continues to rise,
resulting in an increasingly serious greenhouse effect. The result
is global warming, which brings serious environmental problems.
(1) Greenhouse effect: The carbon dioxide gas in the atmosphere
makes it difficult for the energy of sunlight absorbed by the
ground to dissipate, thereby causing global warming. This
phenomenon is called the "greenhouse effect".
(2) Gases that can produce greenhouse effect: CO2, O3, CH4,
chlorofluoroalkanes (fluorochloromethane), etc.
(3) Harm of the greenhouse effect: causing glaciers at the poles to
melt, raising sea levels, and submerging some coastal cities;
desertification of land, resulting in reduced agricultural
production; causing severe and extreme weather events such as
rainstorms and floods to increase in frequency and intensity;
Affect natural ecosystems, alter biodiversity, and more.
(4) Methods to prevent the greenhouse effect: reduce the use of
fossil fuels and make more use of clean energy such as solar
energy; improve energy efficiency; vigorously plant trees and
afforestation, and strictly prohibit indiscriminate logging; use
physical or chemical methods to artificially absorb CO2, etc.;
advocate "Low carbon" living (reducing carbon dioxide emissions).
