Heating accounts for a significant proportion of the world€™s

demand for heat represented *7% of final energy use, higher than
final energy for electricity (*7%) and transport (*7%) combined.
The large proportion of heat in final energy demand explains the
substantial contribution that renewable heat - and thus solar
heat - could make in meeting climate change and energy security
