Jindal Power Limited (JPL), an affiliate of Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (JSPL) and part of the US$*2 billion (over Rs. *0, **0 crore) O P Jindal Group, has been contributing significantly to the growing needs of power in the country. JPL has set up India€™s first mega power project €“ the ***0 MW O P Jindal Super Thermal Power Plant at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. The Company has invested US $ 0.*0 billion (Rs. 4, **0 crores) for setting up ***0 MW power plant which was commissioned in a record time €“ beginning in September ***7, all four units (**0 MW each) were commissioned within a span of one year. The fuel supply of the plant is met through its captive coal mines. A 7 km cross-country conveyer pipeline has been set up for transportation of coal between the mines and the plant. The company has constructed a **8 km, **0 KV Double Circuit transmission line from the plant to the PGCIL substation at Raipur for distribution of power throughout India. For meeting the plant€™s consumptive water requirement, *8 m high dam over the Kurket River has been built, *5 km away from the project site.
