The company derives its name from its late founder, Arastou Etemad Emami. He originally qualified as an industrial engineer in Hamburg, Germany, and went on to run a number of businesses, including a machine factory in Lauenburg, also in northern Germany. Building on his extensive knowledge of German engineering excellence €“ and responding to an evident market need in the Gulf Region for superior material handling equipment €“ ARAS was born.
