Palm oil trader David Ng said the outlook is due to weak exports
which would continue to weigh on CPO prices.
We expect prices to trade between RM4,**0 per tonne and RM4,**0 per
tonne next week," he told Bernama.
Cargo surveyor Intertek Testing Services data revealed that
Malaysias exports for the Dec ***5 period fell by *2.*9 per cent to
**2,**7 tonnes from **2,**5 tonnes in Nov ***5, ***1.
Meanwhile, cargo surveyors AmSpec Malaysia reported that exports
during Dec ***5 fell 9.*2 per cent to **5,**0 tonnes from **8,**9
tonnes in the preceding month.
However, earlier this week, MIDF Research has maintained a
'positive' stance on the plantation sector with a target price for
CPO of RM3,**0 per tonne in calendar year ***2.
We believe the palm oil supply tightness situation will likely ease
in ***2 due to higher production. In tandem, we expect stockpiles
to slightly improve and eventually be back to pre-pandemic levels.
