Commonly used delivery states are as follows:
Quenching: The process of cooling rapidly after heating above the
temperature of the phase transition point. Increase the hardness of
the material, but reduce the toughness.
Normalizing: Cooling normally (in air) after heating above the
phase transition temperature.
Annealing: After heating to the temperature above the phase change
point, slow cooling. Eliminate quenching effect, eliminate stress,
uniform composition.
Tempering: After quenching, reheating to a certain temperature
(below quenching temperature), holding, and then cooling. Uniform
composition, slightly reduce hardness, greatly improve
toughness.
Generally speaking: first to annealing, normalizing; Eliminate the
effect of original heat treatment. Then quench, then temper.
