SHOCK TIMER (

Sensor)
The in-transit damage tracking capability, a feature not
available before, will
add to quality of transportation living up to cargo owners
expectations.
There are various causes for in-transit damage : inappropri-ate
packing or, perhaps, careless or rough cargo handling,
etc.Sometimes the appearance of packing makes it impossible to see
what actually took place inside, especially when the pack-age is
heavy, like the one for precision machinery.
This will re-sult in delay in discovery or reporting of damage,
making it dif-ficult to locate the cause of accident, to assign
liability for the damage and, in the end, to improve transportation
quality.
Why is it, then, that conventional shock or fall detection sen-sors
do not help improve the quality of transportation?
Its because they do not tell exactly when the shock
occurred.Without time information you jy just cant locate the cause
of ac-cident or assign the liability for damage. Unfortunately all
con-ventional sensors do is to simply tell whether or not it
occurred.
So here is SHOCK TIMER : a Shock Sensor developed to solve this
problem.
If a shock occurs that exceeds a certain magnitude level, an
integral timer stops, freezing the time point providing
informa-tion of when the excessive shock occurred during
transporta-tion.
(No timer resetting is possible.)
The timer shows that the length of time between the time it was
activated and the time it stopped due to shock. It tells you
exactly when the accident occurred in terms of the point in time as
measured from the moment the shipment left ware-house (the point in
time at which the timer was activated).
This information may be used for locating where it happened as well
as assigning who is responsible.
