Introduction of Glacial Acetic
Acid/GAA
Glacial acetic
acid is one of the important organic acids. It freezes into ice at
low temperatures, commonly known as glacial acetic acid. Volume
expansion during solidification may cause the container to break.
The flash point is *9°C, the explosion limit is 4.0% to *6.0%, and
the maximum allowable concentration in the air does not exceed
*5mg/m3. Pure acetic acid will freeze into ice-like crystals below
the melting point, so anhydrous acetic acid is also called glacial
acetic acid. Glacial acetic acid is mainly used for the synthesis
of vinyl acetate, cellulose acetate, acetic anhydride, acetate,
metal acetate and haloacetic acid. It is also an important raw
material for pharmaceuticals, dyes, pesticides and other organic
synthesis. In addition, there are also a wide range of uses in
the manufacture of photomedicines, cellulose acetate, textile
printing and dyeing, and the rubber industry, as well as the
manufacture of plastics, solvents for dyes, photography, medicine,
pesticides, and other raw materials for organic
synthesis.
