condition. ***5 has been a practical solution to chloride stress
corrosion cracking problems experienced with **4/**4L or **6/**6L
stainless. The high chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen contents
provide corrosion resistance superior to **6/**6L and **7L
stainless in most environments. ***5 is not suggested for operating
temperatures up to **0°F.
The design strength of ***5 is significantly higher than **6/**6L,
often permitting lighter wall construction. ***5 has good notch
impact toughness down to temperatures below - *0°F. ***5 is welded
with E***9 or ER***9 fillers.
