Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Oils
Heavy Duty Diesel Engine Oils (HDEOs), Commercial Vehicles Lubricants (CVL) also sometimes called HDMO - heavy dyty motor oil, it’s lubricant group especially for trucks and of course commercial vehicles like bus, agricultural and heavy industry machinery. Automotive Gear Oils
Gear oil is alubricant made specifically fortransmissions,transfer cases, anddifferentials inautomobiles, trucks, and other machinery. It is of a higherviscosity to better protect thegears. The high viscosity ensures transfer of lubricant throug the gear train. This is necessary since the devices needing this heavy oil do not have pumps for transferring the oil with only a portion of the lowermost gears bathed in an oil sump. This heavy oil can createviscous drag leading to inefficiencies in vehicle operation. Some modern automatictransaxles (integrated transmission and differential) do not use a heavy oil at all, but lubricate with the lower viscosityhydraulic fluid, which is available at pressure within theautomatic transmission. Most lubricants for manual gearboxes and differentials arehypoid gear oils. These containextreme pressure (EP) additives andantiwear additives to cope with the sliding action of hypoid bevel gears. Fullysynthetic gear oilsare also used in many vehicles, and have a greater resistance to shear breakdown than mineral oils. API classification subdivides all transmission oils into main classes: API GL*1, API GL*2, API GL*3, API GL*4, API GL*5 , API GL*6 and according SAE *5W**0, SAE *5W***0, SAE *0W**0, SAE *5W***0. Automatic Transmissions Fluids
Automatic transmission fluids (ATF‘s) are used in the transmissions of passenger cars, commercial vehicles, off-road trucks, mobile equipment and in non-transmission applications, such as power steering, small hydraulic pumps and farm applications. For passenger cars and commercial vehicles, OEMs are demanding longer drain intervals and fill- for-life capability. Automatic transmissions are changing in design from 5 to 6 speed and now even 7 or 8 speed capability, improving drivability and performance.
