Description

The grains present a dominantly vitreous endosperm (hard or horny texture).
To be considered for analytical purposes flint or silver grains are those that meet the following specifications:
 - Their crown shows no cleavage
 - In longitudinal section, the endosperm shows a central mealy part surrounded by a horny part this must account for the dominant part of the total cut surface. The percentage of these grains must not be less than NINETY-FIVE PERCENT (*5%) (expressed in units), with a tolerance of least three percent (*3%) .
 - Flotation Test. The percentage of these grains must not be more than TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT (*5%).
 - Minimum Test Weight (in kg / hl): Seventy-six (*6.*0)
