We take whole basalt columns, ****4″ in
diameter, and slice them into 6″ thick pieces to create our
Basalt Steps. We leave the
natural crust sides and flame the top surface to give it
texture. Our Basalt Stairs are dimensionally
cut rectangular blocks of basalt, with a flamed or polished finish
surface .
We also have cut to size indoor stairs and steps.
Basalt is mined from the extinct volcano mountainous area in Fujian
Province. It is a stone derived from the hardening of lava from the
eruption of volcanos. The stone color ranges between dark blue grey
and blackish. Basalt is one of the most durable stones for
indoor and outdoor use, once installed needs no
maintenance. Basalt can be processed into floor tiles, steps,
window sills, fireplaces, columns and so on in a variety of finish
such as polished, honed, flamed, chiseled, hammered, planned,
brushed ect. Basalt is usually used for floor, cladding,
restoration, funeral-art and so on.
