Fucoidan Introduction
Fucoidan is a
uniquely-structured sulfated polysaccharide, a complex carbohydrate
molecule that is found in the cell walls of brown seaweed.
Particularly, Fucoidan is found in high concentrations in the cell
walls of Laminaria and Undaria.
The polysaccharide was named as
“fucoidan” when it was first isolated from brown algae by Kylin in
