Description
Fucoidan Introduction
Fucoidan is a
uniquely-structured sulfated polysaccharide, a complex carbohydrate
molecule that is found in the cell walls of brown seaweed.
Particularly, Fucoidan is found in high concentrations in the cell
walls of Laminaria and Undaria.
The polysaccharide was named as
“fucoidan” when it was first isolated from brown algae by Kylin in
***3. Now it is named as “fucoidan” according to IUPAC rules. For
the past decade fucoidans isolated from different species have been
extensively studied due to their varied biological activities,
including anticoagulant and antithrombotic, antivirus, antitumor
and immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, blood lipids reducing,
antioxidant and anticomplementary properties, and therapeutic
potential in surgery.
Functions
1. Fucoidan and enhance
immunity.
Fucoidan activate and strengthen
the function of immune cells including macrophages, natural killer
(NK) cells, lymphocytes, and neutrophils, to improve
immunity.
2. Fucoidan and cancer
modulation
Fucoidan improves the defense
ability of organism to the tumor cells and enhances the host immune
system to suppress the spontaneous tumorigenesis.
3. Fucoidan and cardiovascular
health
A clinical shows that fucoidan
has effective ingredients for anticoagulant activity.
4. Fucoidan and
detoxication
Detoxify the body from heavy
metals, radioactive elements, free radicals and
toxins.
Contributing to the formation of
metal complex, fucoidan inhibits intestinal absorption of heavy
metals.
5. Fucoidan and
anti-diabetes
Study show that fucoidan can
help reduce the risk of Diabetes
6. Fucoidan and intestinal and
stomach disorder
Fucoidan has remarkable
growth-promoting effect on bifidobacteria, so as to improve
intestinal micro-ecological balance.
Other potential medical
functions: Fucoidan can be alternative for
anticoagulant
Many studies showed that the
anticoagulant activity of fucoidan maybe have some relation with
sulfate content and position, molecular weight and sugar
composition. The higher content of sulfate groups often presents
the higher anticoagulant activity in native fucoidan ( E.kurome,
H.fusiforme)
The advantage of
FucoEssen***-AlgaNovo fucoidan
1. **0% natural organic sulfated
group, *0% high natural SO4 in fucoidan.
2. Tech-savvy extraction,
cutting-edge enzyme dissociation and full range of
specification.
3. Handy selection, choiced wild
seaweed source and multi-component of fucoidan
supplement.
