BBO is a negative uniaxial crystal, and its o-ray
refractive coefficient (no) is higher than that of the e-ray (ne)
which can be calculated by Selleimer equation (λ in

BBO is an
efficient NLO crystal for the second, third and fourth harmonic
generation of Nd:YAG lasers, and the best NLO crystal for the fifth
