SJ**1G is a sintered flux developped specially for welding steel pipes which is used in West-East Natural Gas Transmission Project. The alkalinity is approximately 1.8, and the flux grains of color grey are round, with grain size ****5 meshes( that is 1.**0.3mm). It can be used with either alternate current or direct current. And the welding wire should be connected to the positive electrode when used with direct current. It has the property of stable arc combustion, good slag detachability and good welding bead appearance. The metal seam has higher low-temperature impact toughness. As a special production technique is adopted, the flux possesses properties of better moisture resistance and good grains strength, which can satisfy the requirements for regular transportation, storage and recycling use in welding. The flux has less specific gravity when it is bulk packed. And the flux is consumed less during the welding. Matching with suitable welding wires( H*8C, H*8MnA, H*0Mn2, H*8MnMoA, H*8Mn2MoA), it can weld many types of steel pipes, made by such as X*2, X*0, X*5, X*0 steels, etc. SJ**1G can also be used in multi-layer welding, double-side single-pass welding, multiple-wire welding and narrow-gap submerged arc welding.
