Aluminum chlorohydrate is a group of salts having the general formula AlnCl(3n-m)(OH)m. It is used in deodorants and antiperspirants and as a flocculant in water ***** water purification, where it is usually called polyaluminium chloride, this compound is preferred in some cases because the pH value can be varied according to the exact values chosen for the subscripts n and m in the pattern formula. Although many variations are used, an especially important combination is Al*2Cl*2(OH)*4. The actual pH correlates to the formula m/(3n). It is easily soluble in water. In the hydrolytic process, it is accompanied with the chemical processes such as electrochemistry, coagulation, absorption and precipitation. The product has the features including wide applicable range of PH value, large granule, and quick speed in sedimentation. Product type 1.Distinguished from the status 1)Liquid PAC is in undried state so no need to be diluted. It is not only easy to handle and use, but also with low price comparably. The only disadvantage is that it needs to be transported by tanks which results in more cost. 2)Solid PAC is in dried state but need to be diluted before using. However, the transportation of solid PAC is quite convenient. 2.Distinguished from the technology 1)Drum PAC is with normal aluminum content but high water insoluble, so it is mainly used in sewage treatment. 2)Involution PAC is with high aluminum content and low water insoluble compared with Drum PAC, so it is mostly used for sewage treatment and drinking water treatment. 3)Spray-drying PAC is also with high aluminum content and low water insoluble like Involution PAC, but it take the advantage of fast dissolution so it is mainly used in drinking water treatment and much higher standard water treatment.
