Water Treatment Chemicals Polyacrylamide, PAM for short, is a water-soluble linear polymer material (-CH2CHCONH*-) formed from acrylamide subunits that can also be readily cross-linked. The PAM exists in the status of white powdery, easily soluble in water but almost insoluble in benzene, ether, lipids, acetone and other normal organic solvents. The aqueous solution containing PAM is nearly transparent viscous liquid and belongs to Non-dangerous goods with non-toxicity and non-corrosive. (2).Adhesiveness: PAM adhesiveness works with the mechanical, physical and Chemical function. (4).Thickening: PAM thickening function works under the neutral and acidic condition. Application PAM are mainly used for oil recovery, sugar-making, coal washing, ore dressing, paper-making, paint, hydrometallurgy, textile, stone cutting, chemical industry, pesticide, medicine, sewage treatment and so on. Colloid and powdery PAM can be produced in different content, different molecular weight and different hydrolysis degree based on the special demands of customers. Notes: PAM is non-poisonous itself. Only when the amount of its absorption by man reaches more than 0.5%, it is harmful due to hindering in gastrointestinal mucosa for the absorption of nutrients.
