ABRA Winter Garden Structure: Reinforced concrete structure The number of floors: 2 floors Gross area: **5 sqm Outside dimension: L=*5 W=8 H=*3 (m) ABRA headquarters faces north and so the duration of sunshine is insufficient in the winter time. We made a garden on the 2nd floor of this building to get sufficient sunshine in the winter time and secured a warm space by walling up 3 faces. The 1st floor is used as day room and parking lot. A small aquarium is on the 2nd floor of which the bottom is made of tempered glass and we can see the sky and the small aqua-world of fishes, papyrus and water lilies through the glass from the 1st floor parking lot. The 2nd floor sculpture named as an onion is an imaginary bulbous plant inhibited during the Mesozoic era. The interior was bedecked with a log texture and so you may feel like you are in a wine barrel. Windows can be rotated *0 degrees so food and beverages prepared inside can be delivered outside to the garden through the windows. The pergola on the right side was made by direct sculpturing method and a flowerpot is placed on it to give a fresh feeling during the hot summer. Flowerpots placed around the garden also produce a cozy atmosphere. Ceramic tiles were used to decorate some parts of the outside wall.
