2.    CORE:  
a.    Must be all OAK
b.    Total thickness 1 ½” (*8.1 mm)
c.    Solid single piece each edge 1” to 1 1/8” (*5.4 mm to *8.*8 mm) wide.  1 1/8 (*8.*8 mm) preferred
i.    Sound knots (**4 per piece), acceptable on edge parts
d.    Core material can be edge glued and finger jointed, expect for edge pieces.  No finger joint on edge pieces

3.    FACES:
a.    Both faces must be one piece solid OAK 3/*6” (4.*6 mm) thick x 5 ½” (**9.7 mm) wide
b.    Sound knots up to 2” (*0.8 mm) acceptable
c.    Star checked knots acceptable
d.    Open knots (**2 per face) okay preferred partially filled with Alder sawdust or mulch.  Maximum opening is  (*5.4mm), although knot itself can be up to 2” (*0.8 mm) at maximum measurement
e.    Minimal or no putty fill on faces preferred
f.    Other natural defects (mineral streaks, pin knots) allowed within reason
g.    Shake not allowed
h.    Foreign material (wood chips, etc) not allowed between face and core as telegraph through

4.    NOTES: 
a.    Stiles must be straight and flat.  Bowed or twisted material not allowed as these are made into entry doors
b.    Adhesive used throughout must be a Type I exterior glue
c.    All material used must be Kiln Dried with moisture content not exceeding ***0%
