ORIGIN : Curtan***0 is a **0% vegetal tanning agent, pyrogallol tanning, resulting from the grinding of dry seedless pods from the tara trees (Caesalpinea Tintorea ). CURTAN***0 can also be used along with other vegetable and synthetic tanning agents. APLICATIONS: On direct vegetable tanning *5% to *0% is applied and on vegetable re-tanning of wet blue cattle, goat, ovine and others 5% to 8% is applied of shaved weight, for the production of compact and strong sole leather up to soft leather for lining. Its very best efficiency is when it its applied together with other synthetic tanning agents, that gives penetration power. It is also used for the production of Taning and Galic acids. PROPERTIES OF LEATHER WITH CURTAN***0: CURTAN***0 produces light pastel color leathers of excellent resistance to light due that it practically does not posses color substances. It offers softness, flexibility, fullness, stability, resistance, filling and low calorific conductibility among other properties.
