Solid impurities are then separated by methods like filtration or centrifugation, resulting in a relatively pure folic acid solution.

Alkali purification: The folic acid solution is reacted with a strong alkali, such as sodium hydroxide, to aid in the removal of residual impurities and contaminants. Subsequently, the pH of the solution is adjusted through neutralization, gradually approaching neutrality.
