New for ***1 & ***2 BHOLLA has revisited the entire range of Sticks taking a new look on institutions such as the VARUCA. A little bit of a throw back in the VARUCA range while all other sticks have found themselves with new looks, moulds, layups, feel… It’s a big year for BHOLLA on sticks.

The Varuca is the first release of our exciting new “Dribble” mould. This mould features 3 new major innovations.
The 1st innovation is the Maxi Plus extended head shape, the 2nd being the slightly lower than central bow and the
3rd development is the slim shaft and head profile. Naturally, it also features our trademark ultra-premium Varuca
composition and the latest lay-up technology as used by our top international players to ensure an all round premium stick.
The motivation behind the Varuca design is that hockey is changing and this stick will help players to find that
something extra. There is now a need for players to have a more all round game. 3D skills are a necessity for any top player,
along with the ability to play upright on their backhand. Since the introduction of synthetic fields players are now
using the low backhand (also know as the Grazie) for both shots and passes regardless of distance and too often trap
low on their backhand, limiting their speed, flow and openness of receive. The art of the subtle upright backhand trap,
pass, overhead and quick goal shot have not been as diligently learned in the last decade, and we’ve noticed that the
top players of the *0′s and *0′s were much more adept in this area. Here at BHOLLA we think its time to bring some of
the art back to our game and the Varuca is designed to help.             The new Maxi Plus head shape increases the hook height by *0mm (compared to the Taboo Blue Steel standard mould).
It is our largest production head shape which offers the greatest surface area, maximising the trapping surface
on both forehand and upright backhand receives as well as upright backhand passes and shots. It also allows better
control of the ball when dribbling as the increased surface area around the toe of the head makes it easier to “catch”
the ball on quick, powerfull, and sharp drags. We were conscious to ensure the head shape was maximised but did not
resemble a tight hook, so you can still gather and control the ball in the arc of the head for spins, drags and penalty
corner injections. The lower than central bow provides the advantages of responsive lifts, drags and pushing power
and the slim profile throughout the shaft and head makes it easier than ever to get under the ball for 3D skills.
In all, the combination of these three new design features plus the premium lay-up and excellent balance to weight
ratio’s makes the BHOLLA VARUCA a cutting edge stick for the next generation of play.
