Opus 4 - Automatic Spray Tan
Boothhas been designed upwards from the shell
of Opus 3 Manual Spray Tanning Booth and is the original brainchild
of Chris Nelson. Opus 3's proven track record for high performance
in terms of extraction rate and containment of overspray made it an
ideal platform for the intergration of a unique patented robotic
spray arm, attached to the front radius of the booth opening. Opus
3 was designed specifically with Opus 4 in
mind.

Using just a single HVLP spray gun, Opus 4 creates a comfortable experience for the client as they're sprayed using similar techniques to manaul spray tanning, the difference being however that Opus 4 delivers repeatable results in complete privacy.
Just 2 standing positions are required in relaxed poses. Just in case and to help clients achieve the correct position, pleasant automated voice instructions guide the client through the entire process making it virtually impossible to get wrong. Even if we do make a mistake (as seen in video by clicking on picture), Opus 4 is very forgiving.
First shown as a prototype in November ***0 at Smart Tan Nashville ***0, it's second outing at Smart Tan ***1 was extremely successful, becoming the first booth to apply real spray tans to real people, back to back over 2 days. It's latest presentation on the Norvell stand at Nashville (the Norvell Revolution), proved just as successful.
We believe this is the best Automatic Spray Tanning Booth ever introduced to the Sunless Tanning Market but to believe it, you need to experience it in operation. The comments made in forums by salons who have purchased the Norvell Revolution speak for themselves.
Opus 4 is being called 'The Re-Invention of Automated Spray Tanning', designed specifically to spray ALL Tanning Brands without compromise.
Having recently had it's 1st UK Public Showing at an Exclusive Wedding Event in Glasgow, perfect tans were applied to a number of models who all stated it was the best tan they had ever received. The same is being said time and time again with the Norvell Revolution in the USA. The Soul Spa in Glasgow have become the 1st UK salon to take on board the booth. i-tan supported Soul Spa at the event and installed their new Opus 4 the very next day. Their manual therapists had the view (as we all did, following the poor reputation associated with Automatic Spray Tanning in the UK), that Opus 4, before they saw it working, would not perform as well as a manual treatment. They admitted they were wrong and look forward to not only offering new clients the Automated Spray Option, but continuing to apply Manual Treatments to their existing clients using Opus 4's LVLP Manual Spray Gun - making Opus 4 a Dual Function Booth.

Heated Re-Circulating Down-Flow Extraction, drying client throughout entire spray tanning cycle, removing and containing overspray. This patented extraction technology was introduced to St Tropez in late ***2 and used as the extraction technique for the market leading Airport & Elegance Booths ***3 to ***9 with virtually all of them still in operation today. It is a proven extraction technique that ensures clean treatment rooms are maintained over the long term. Only *0% of filtered air is exhausted back into the treatment room with the remaining *0% of air retained inside the booth volume, forming the patented re-circulating extraction.
Robotic Linear / Radial Spray Arm using a single HVLP spray gun, simulating manual spray treatment. The radial arm is used to increment the Linear Arm around the front radius of the booth opening over 7 carefully tested incremental positions. The HVLP Spray Gun is mounted within the Linear Arm pointing inwards, towards the back of the booth, simulating the approach position of a manual therapist. This is moved up and down at each of the radial increments, just as a manual therapist would position themselves when spraying a client. At the end of the front pass, the client is simply required to face the back of the booth, allowing a *-step rear pass to be completed.
An Automated Voice Instruction Module is used throughout the treatment, guiding the client through entire process, ensuring the client adopts the correct stances, raises arms when requested and so on. Actress Rachael Naylor is the voice of Opus 4.
Flawless tans for every time, no matter body shape, body size or skin type. This is achieved using super-fine atomisation of the product, spread into a wide fan which is repeatable for each and every spray stroke, applying perfection with each carefully balanced overlap.
Using a touch screen interface, selectable spray speeds are provided for Light through to Heavy coverage, depending on the preference of the client. Furthermore, any tanning product can be used as it caters for all tanning fluid viscosity levels with ease.
Opus 4 uses just a single tanning fluid as we could not see the benefit in pre-loading the booth with multiple products just to gain extra revenue in product sales. We found that salons prefer to use one product that can be applied to all skin types. To help, Opus 4 allows Light, Medium or Heavy coverage. Why complicate matters?
6 Minute treatment cycle from Step-In to Step-Out. Yes, there are automatic booths that attempt to apply tans in far less time however, Opus 4 was designed for ‘quality of tan, not speed’. Rather than rushing your way through a tanning treatment, Opus 4 allows you to relax and get sprayed in comfort.
Throughout the entire treatment, warm air flows over the clients' body in a downward direction at a speed in excess of 1.1m/sec (2,**0m3/hr - 1,**7 CFM), continuously drying the client and taking all overspray away from the face into a comprehensive filter set below the foot grate. This ensures that overspray is only ever present around the face when the face is being sprayed (short hold of breathe and eyes closed on 7 short occasions). At all other times, the client is never placed in a position where they are exposed to overspray around the face, allowing you to breath normally and open your eyes. Just to clarrify, Clients are never put into a position where they inhale atomised spray. Opus 4 is the only Automatic Spray Tanning Booth that can truly make that claim.
No Plumbing – Dry Filter technology using disposable filters. The majority of automatic spray tanning booths include a water-wash cycle and tend to offer token gestures of extraction. This prevents the use of suitable filtration techniques required for containing overspray when extracted, hence the fog one often associates with automatic spray tan booths. The poor removal of water, lying for months within trap points within the base, soon results in a stagnant smelling treatment room (bacteria smells). The plumbing requirement and more importantly, the smell, is avoided using our dry filter based technology. A simple wipe down at the end of the day is all that is required to maintain the cleanliness of the booth and changing filters as specified below.
Perhaps the most compact automatic spray tanning booth on the market, measuring just 1,**0mm wide x 1,**0mm deep x 2,**0mm height. It fits into most European treatment rooms and requires a floor area of just 1,**0mm width x 2,**0mm depth x 2,**0mm height with a normal domestic single plug socket for power supply. The treatment room doesn't even need to be ventilated.
The open-front booth, overhead lighting, warm flow of air and assuring voice instructions result in a pleasant treatment experience without the feeling of being squeezed into a closed booth volume, that's cold, wet, misty, dark and noisy.
