We are the leading talc producer for the European paint and coating industry. Talc in paint and coating is not used as a filler (to increase the volume) but as a functional component that introduces a number of properties.
The surface of pure talc is hydrophobic, and the particle form is laminar. Different talc grades have a more or less pronounced laminar structure (macro or microcrystalline) and can contain other minerals.
Our talc for paint and coating is an excellent choice. Their advantages are their macrocrystalline structure and their consistent chemical composition. The particle structure is a property of the raw material. We do everything else. The purity is achieved through our talc flotation process. This means that we remove impurities by means of a process in which talc is separated from other minerals using water and air. Finntalc grades with the designation SL are additionally purified using our special electromagnetic separator. Using specialized equipment for milling and air classification, we can control the particle size distribution in virtually any way desired.
