Terra Agro intends to specialize in the breeding of the
pure-bred French meat sheep Ile de France and Bulgarian sheep
cross-bred with Ile de France. Toward that end, we
imported a flock
of **0 Ile de France ewes and five rams from the French Association of Ile de France in
January of ***2. We also bought a flock of Ile de France
cross-bred with the Romanov sheep from the Institute of High-Mountain Animal
Husbandry in Troian, Bulgaria in December ***1 to start our
flocks. At the moment, we have **0 pure-breed Ile-de-France sheep
in Dushevo and approximately **0 cross-bred
Ile-de-France and Bulgarian sheep. We expect ******0 female lambs
during the lambing season (Dec. –March, ***3) in Dushevo and
******5 cross-breeds in Ryahovtsite. All of the female lambs will
be kept to build-up our flocks.
