It has low stress birefringence and highestrefractive index homogeneity. The optical transmission range of crystalquartz is 0.***4 microns. Quartz corresponds to the best naturalmaterial by its physical properties. It contains neither electrical nooptical twins and there are no cracks and chippings. Crystals ofsynthetic quartz show high transmittance over a large spectral rangefrom IR to UV.
