Polyphenylene Sulfide
(PPS)
Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) is a crystalline thermoplastic resin
with exceptional thermal, chemical, electrical and flame retardant
properties. The unique properties of PPS is given by its highly
stable chemical bonds in its molecular structure, moreover PPS has
very thermally stable crystalline lattice imparts it to have a high
melting point of about **5°C.

Thermal Resistant properties
Excellent short-term and long-term thermal resistance
properties;
Dimensional Stability properties
Very low molding contraction rate and coefficient of linear thermal
expansion with low moisture absorption means outstanding
dimensional stability even at high temperature and high
humidity;
Chemical Resistance properties
Excellent chemical resistance, very close to that of fluropolymers
(PPS has no known solvent below **0
℃);
Mechanical properties
PPS offer high strength and high rigidity with minimum decline in
mechanical properties even at high temperatures. Outstanding
fatigue and creep resistance;
Flame Retardant properties
PPS is inherently flame retardant and readily conform to UL*4 V0
requirements;
Electrical properties
Very low dielectric and dissipation factor even at high
temperature, humidity and high frequencies environment;
Molding properties
Could meet tight injection molding tolerances with high
reproducibility.
Applications
In Cheng Yu, we offer various grades with glass fiber (GF)
reinforced, glass fiber reinforced /mineral modified (GF/MD), PTFE,
conductive and impact modified PPS compounds that are specially
formulated to meets demanding applications in:
Electronics Components
Sockets, connectors, motor blades and parts, relay, switches and
coil skeleton;
Electrical Appliances
Air-conditioner components, heater unit, hair dryer, coffee pot,
electric kettle, copier and printer;
Automotive Parts
Exhaust gas valve, water impeller, heating apparatus, temperature
controller, mechanical bearing, sensor and rectifier.;
Sanitary Accessory
High temperature resistant fittings, valves, hot water system;
Mechanical Parts
High temperature resistant bearings, pumps parts, pistons, gaskets,
flange, sprayer, bolts;
Chemical Industries
Pipe fittings and valve parts of anticorrosion parts, house and
impeller of metering pump, reactor parts like plates, lining,
