latest edition. All bars are straightened and Eddy Current inspected for surface defects. Both ends are upset by automated high speed hot forging. Bars are full length normalized to relive residual stresses, air-quenched, and tempered to refine and homogenize grain structure, and surface shot-cleaned to remove any remaining heat treat scale.
