Maleic anhydride is an organic compound. It is the acid anhydride
of maleic acid and in its pure state it is a colourless or white
solid with an acrid odour. It was traditionally manufactured by the
oxidation of benzene or other aromatic compounds.It is used to
produce plasticizer in the plastics industry, to produce the paper
treatment agent in the paper-making industry, to produce the
insulating varnish, the white enamel varnish and the varn.
