Product Description

  

Lost foam sand casting moulding machine is a kind of casting machine also called EPC process casting mould machine, can be designed to simple or huge whole line. At present, it's widely used in the casting field at home and abroad.

 

What's lost foam sand casting moulding machine

 

LostFoam Casting (LFC) is a type of evaporativepattern casting where in Expanded Polystyrene EPS is used as pattern. LFC casting process is advantageous for very complex castings that would regularly require cores, to very simple castings saving environment and is more efficient, eventually better profits.

 

What's the machines' processing principle

 

1. Mold foam pattern sections.
2. Age pattern to allow dimensional shrinkage.
3. Assemble pattern if it is a multiple piece pattern.
4. Build cluster (multiple patterns per cluster).
5. Coat cluster.
6. Dry coating.
7. Compact cluster in flask.
8. Pour metal.
9. Extract cluster from flask.

 

Why it is costeffective

 

As compared to investment (Lost Wax) casting, it is cheaper because it is a simpler process and the foam is cheaper than the wax.


Why Risers are not usually required due to the nature of the process

 

Because the molten metal vaporizes the foam the first metal into the mold cools more quickly than the rest, which results in natural directional solidification.

 

About the casting production of lostfoam process

 

Commonly cast metals include cast irons, aluminium alloys, steels, and nickel alloys; less frequently stainless steels and copper alloys are also cast. The size range is from 0.5 kg (1.1 lb) to several tonnes (tons). The minimum wall thickness is 2.5 mm (0.**8 in) and there is no upper limit. Typical surface finishes are from 2.5 to *5 μm (**0 to ***0 μin) RMS.[3] Typical linear tolerances are ±0.**5 mm/mm (0.**5 in/in).
