About cone calorimeter:

A cone calorimeter is a modern device used to study the fire behavior of small samples of various materials in condensed phase. It is widely used in the field of fire safety engineering. It gathers data regarding the ignition time, mass loss, combustion products, heat release rate and other parameters associated with the sample's burning properties.

The Cone Calorimeter has long been considered the most significant bench scale instrument in the field of fire testing, because it measures important real fire properties of the material being tested under a variety of preset conditions. These measurements can be used directly by researchers or they can be used as data for into correlation or mathematical models used to predict fire development.

 

Product Introduction:

Cone Calorimeter measures heat release rate(H.R.R), smoke release, ignition time, oxygen consumption, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide generation and mass loss rate when specimen is exposed to resource of conical heater.

The Cone Calorimeter has been produced to be the most compact and easily maintained unit in the marketplace. It fits into the smallest of labs and is easy to operate.

Though menu driven software,user can easily complete calibration, testing and get result reports.

The complete system consists of:

1. Conical Heater - wound in the form of a truncated cone, rated ***0 W at **0 V with a heat output of 0~**0 kW/m2.

2. Facility for testing horizontally or vertically orientated specimens

3. Temperature control by the use of 3 type K thermocouplesand a *-term (PID) temperature controller.

4. A Split Shutter Mechanism - automatically open to transmit radiation to the sample.

5. Specimen Holders - a square pan **6mm x **6mm at the top, and a height of *5mm, constructed from stainless steel.

6. Load Cell - a strain gauge load cell with an accuracy of 0.*1g. Fitted with a quick electronic tare facility and mechanical stops.

7. Spark Ignition - by *0 kV spark generator fitted with a safety cut-out device.

8. Gas Sampling - comprising particulate filters, refrigerated cold trap, pump, drying columns and flow control.

9. Oxygen Analysis - paramagnetic oxygen analyser, which has a range of ***5% .

*0. Smoke density analysis - using laser system, the system consists of a 0.5mW He Ne laser, the main detector and auxiliary detector.

*1. Heat Flux Meter - setting the irradiance level at the surface of the specimens.

*2. Exhaust System - consists of the fan, the smoke collection cover, the exhaust pipe and orifice plate flow meter and so on. Exhaust fan flow rate of 0 ~ *0g/s, precision 0.1g/s.

*3. Portable water cooling system - without need for waterworks and plumbing when using the Heat Flux meter (for ISO ***0).

*4. Calibration Burner - to calibrate the rate of heat release measured by the apparatus using methane of *9.5% purity.

*5. Data Acquisition be able to record oxygen analyzer, orifice meter, thermocouple and other instruments, all readings are automatically time stamped and can be stored in a non-volatile *0,***-reading memory.

*6. Control system: computer+Labview it is available in multi-languages including English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese. The user interface is a Microsoft Windows based system with user friendly push actions and standard Windows data entry fields, drop down selectors, check boxes and switches.
