The normalizing process is refined by refining grain, uniform tissue, improving the structure defect and improving the comprehensive mechanical properties of the forging flange. Normalizing degree has great influence on the microstructure. The suitable temperature makes the grain refined, resulting in good performance. The temperature is too low, the effect is not big, the temperature is too high, the grain is coarse, and it is easy to form Weishi structure, so the performance decreases. The mechanical performance test and microstructure observation of the normalizing process before and after the improvement of the forging flange have been carried out. The results show that the flange with better comprehensive mechanical properties can be obtained by proper normalizing process.
